Cast brass is one of many metals that De Ferranti can use for their screens. Other metals include German Silver, Bronze, Aluminium and customised alloys.These exquisite works of art are suitable for uses such as dividing screens, window grilles, ornate gates, air-conditioning grilles and for use in furniture.
De Ferranti specialises in creating custom Jalies for their clients. A patination service is also available.

Jali is ornate pierced stone, carved in ornamental patterns. Used widely in classical Moslem and Indian architecture, Jali work provided decorative screening, often allowing the harem to observe, but be unobserved.
De Ferranti uses traditional geometric Jali work to create carved stone and wood screens and panels. However, the look of Jali can also be achieved in cast metals - offering potential for decorative cabinetry inserts, security grilles and other applications.
‘Moucharabieh’, the Moroccan form of Jali, is formed using lattice and tuned lathes and this too, can be made to special commission.
