More and more companies are looking to other markets to sell their decorative products.
Along with Dubai, Russia is one of the hottest regions, with a luxury sector that’s growing strongly, but perhaps somewhere that’s very difficult to access for a western company what with a variety of logistical and language barriers to overcome. Moscow, for example, is now staging the much anticipated Millionaire Fair for the 4th year running.
De Ferranti, who is already working on several projects in Russia, including a large luxe house near Moscow with an opulent bathroom and kitchen, has teamed up with Kimberley Expertise to tap into the growing trend to utilise western design. Set up in London in 1996 by Russian born Natasha and her British husband James Kimberley, Kimberley Expertise brings the best of British and European design to the Russian market. Several big name companies will appear on the English stand that Kimberley Expertise has organised.
Products that De Ferranti is taking to the Millionaire Fair include its exclusive Mother of Pearl Collection which features white, gold and black lip freshwater pearl and abalone; gold copper and bronze mosaic; hand-patinated metal briquettes in brass, bronze, copper and German silver; polished limestones including African Brown and Bitter Chocolate; brogue stamped leathers in a variety of colours; semi-precious mineral tiles and much much more.
‘Russians love opulence and have a history of using rich decoration in their churches and palaces,’ says Natasha Kimberley. ‘De Ferranti has the right products for the LUXE market there. Not only do they offer highly imaginative wall and floor surfaces, they also create architectural elements that are incredibly lavish from rock crystal basins to columns decorated with intricate Cosmati work.’
As well as representing De Ferranti, Kimberley Expertise deals with famous brands such as Morris & Co, Watts of Westminster, Christopher Farr and Neisha Crosland.
